How you become strangers again

A strain of silence travails

past the winds of time

weeks and months

caught in the question of unknowing

the root of a sudden sunder

closure was not bound

only speechless chatters

by blind folded young lovers

reeling their way back to life

without another word exchanged

and I thought

this is how you become strangers again

Buried in the past

the stench of rotten prejudice
the sight of skinny love
the feel of familiarity

a shadow trifling with the idea of love
a name plying on query
a laden heap of rue

deep down the abyss of forgotten mishaps
you will see
a man I thought I knew
